It’ll be about what?!
It’s week two of the spring semester, and I’m still struggling on what exactly should my graphic design thesis be ABOUT.
Format: Series (between 3-6 pieces) of motion graphics shorts. I’m envisioning each short to be somewhere between 15-45 seconds long.
Rough subject ideas so far:
- Funny witty sayings/quotes.
- How-to’s with a witty/bitter/sarcastic twist. Means I’ll be writing a bunch of possibly corny-sounding narratives, such as “How to really be green: ignore the renuable/reusable/recyclable crap. Instead, mix the colors blue and yellow. There.”
- How-to’s with a sincere, optimistic message while being informative - like advice giving. Think GOOD Magazine’s Transparency series: http://www.youtube.com/user/GOODMagazine#p/u/0/reyxkSWUjLI
Anyhow, still brainstorming. Got like one day left to seriously pinpoint my idea.

Got it. I think I will do fake movie/tv show title sequences. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner, considering I’ve been researching Imaginary Forces and Prologue (and Kyle Cooper) for my “Designer We Should Know” presentation proposal all day yesterday. Hmmmm…yeah. Perhaps I will go for it. But first, an email to my teachers.
